KitchenAid's Mini Food Processor is so versatile, it can handle up to 3-cups of ingredients for salsas, sauces, relishes, dips, pesto, baked goods and much more. Use the pulse control for precise operation. A locking domed lid includes a through compartment for adding ingredients as you go and the "reverse spiral action" stainless steel blade pulls food down into the blade and ensures uniform chopping throughout, so you will hardly ever find yourself scraping down the bowl. The KitchenAid quality is especially evident in its construction -- a heavy base adds stability while your processor is in use and the sealed housing reduces noise. When you're done processing, simply wipe off the seamless base and put the other parts in the dishwasher for cleaning. Chopper even comes with a spatula.

"Kitchenaid KFC3100 performs better than it looks people!" 2010-01-13
By Shamim Aqil (Chicago, IL)
just like my title says "Kitchenaid KFC3100 performs better than it looks people!" i cannot believe i didn't buy this years ago. it is worth every penny. the blade is sharper than the japaese sword, so be careful when handling it. chopping couldn't be any easier, this little machine is a definite helper, saves a lot of time and works like a charm. and the best of all it is very easy to clean. Its a small size machine so doesn't take up a lot of counter space or wherever you are storing it. its easy to move around so you won't get lazy to bring it out of the cabinet to use it. if you are thinking about the cuisinart, then you better get ready to do your chopping with the knife before you will consider placing anything in the machine.

 "The perfect cooking companion" 2009-12-30
By Smaug (Round Lake Beach, IL United States)
I got this for my wife about a year ago. We tried another one first, but it wasn't really big enough to be handy. Not to mention it wasn't a cute color. (ours is blue)

She reports the following:

- "I love that thing. I use it every time I cook, at least once."

- "What they said on Amazon is right, it *is* easy to clean. Even if I have to use it for one thing, it is still worth it to use it because it cleans up so fast."

- "It chops really well."

- "If it broke, I would buy another one immediately."

That is pretty high praise, I think.

 "Wonderful product!!" 2009-12-24
By A. Marshall (Blowing Rock, NC)
I love this chopper because it is great for small chopping jobs like nuts and vegetables and doesn't take up a lot of space. I can keep it on my kitchen shelf where it is readily available, and it looks nice, too. Now I can save the big food processor for big jobs.

"Beware the bad, bad button" 2009-11-23
By Anna Ravenscroft (Sillicon Valley, CA)
When it worked, it worked great. Unfortunately, I've had to replace it twice and finally gave up. Why? The pulse button stops working. On each and every one, it would get harder to get the pulse button to work, and then just impossible. Something under the soft cover of the button is just not holding up. I don't use this for hard stuff like nuts and seeds, just for things like pesto, or grinding up cooked pasta sauces to a finer consistency.

It's really too bad, because the style is great (pretty and compact), and the engine works well. But it just isn't terribly helpful to put in a bunch of stewed meat and veggies to whirr, and then find out the button won't work. Last night, I had to use a potato masher and smooosh the sauce by hand. Today, I bought a different brand food chopper.

"Nice chopper for onions and peppers...NOT tomatoes!" 2009-11-16
By MrsOldDuck (Oregon)
I was looking for a chopper to make salsa from fresh ingredients. I found this one at Target and thought I'd give it a try due to the reviews. Normally I chop everything by hand and it takes quite a bit of time. This chopper does a good job on the onions, peppers and cilantro but the tomatoes turn to mush with some large pieces.

It did make me think though, I have a little Cuisinart mini prep chooper/grinder which does the same job, so I'm returning the Kitchenaid and will just use my Cuisinart for everything but the tomatoes. I guess everyone who said it did a good job on salsa must be using canned tomatoes. I could see that working but we prefer fresh.
