 "Melts in the dishwasher" 2010-01-09

Hi,

I'm truly disappointed... I loved using this, for the short time I owned it. Although the manual, and many other comments, say you can wash this in the dishwasher, mine warped in the dishwasher. Actually, this is the second one that warped (why would I try again with a second unit, you ask? Good question.) So now I have half a blender that doesn't snap back together again, and would have to pay $20 to get a new part for a $29 blender. So I'll be shopping around for another brand, since I do love immersion blending and all the fun soups you could create... if your blender doesn't live up to what it's supposed to, per the manual.

"Loved it completely until it broke..." 2010-01-08

I love to make soup and I was thrilled to finally have an immersion

blender -- instead of transferring batches of soup to the blender.

Unfortunately, just today it made a horrible noise and now it won't

work. The motor still spins, but there is something wrong with the

connection between the handle and the blade, because the blade doesn't

spin. It looks like a piece may have broken off in the handle section.

What a disappointment! I'll get another blender, but I think I'll

pay a few extra bucks for one that may be more reliable.

"Good product but breaks too quickly" 2010-01-07

I bought this blender and loved it the moment I tried it out, however it broke within 6 months. I figured it was just a lemon and through their warranty got a replacement. This one too lasted only 6 months before breaking down. Both times it was the same defect, the blade just spins and makes a whizzing sound and nothing can be blended. Sad cause I really liked the product.

"broke after less than 2 year of use, warranty useless" 2010-01-02
By Allison R (South Hamilton, MA)
Before buying this blender I had owned a Kitchenaid hand blender, which gave out after 3 or 4 years of use. When I went to buy a new one the Cuisinart model was cheaper, so I figured I would give it a try. I don't think it's ever performed as well as my Kitchenaid model, and the plastic cup it came with started cracking and leaking after a year or so of being put in the dishwasher. The plastic cup my Kitchenaid blender came with is still going strong. But I was still reasonably satisfied with the Cuisinart blender until it died today, after a year and 8 months of using it once or twice a week. Cuisinart says they have a 3-year warranty but the fine print is you have to pay to have it shipped back plus send them a check for $10 to cover shipping the other way. It's not worth my time! This time I'm going with a Kitchenaid.
